全港認知障礙症照顧者聯盟（簡稱”聯盟”）於2019年5月正式註冊為一間公司、並成功向香港稅務局申請為”認可慈善團體”。委員會的主要成員是家屬。 最初的成立是因家屬相信團結就是力量和希望提升公眾對認知障礙症的關注而結盟。自成立之後、除每年舉辦論壇、並和不同社區機構合作舉辦街展、講座、活動和探訪。
自2007、由幾間機構合作舉辦第一屆的論壇而成立。 當時、論壇目的為了解各區的服務需要和家屬在照顧上所遇到的困難。 主要討論四大主題 – 早期的評估和診斷、家屬支援、社區支援和長期照顧。最初以小組形式討論、現時的論壇分 – 早上是討論診斷和治療方法、而下午是社區支援服務。改變因應家屬參加者給予的意見、希望可以滿足每年參加的家屬照顧者的。
In 2019, Hong Kong Carer Alliance for Dementia (HKCAFD)was registered as a limited company and recently has successfully been granted as a recognized charitable organization. The committee is formed by a group of caregivers. The initial set up was owing to build up strength through group cohesion and hoped to enhance public awareness on Dementia. Since its establishment, the Alliance has held road shows, education talks, activity and home visits in collaboration with local NGOs.
The first carer forum was held in 2007 by a group of NGOs. At that time, the aim of the carer forum was to understand the needs of services at different district and the caring problems encountered by the family caregivers. Four areas were developed – namely early identification through diagnostic and screening tests, carer support group, community support services and long term care. Participants, mainly family caregivers were allowed to go to one of the themes for group discussion. After collecting feedbacks from the participants at the end of each forum, some changes were made. Morning session was focused on medical care and treatment and afternoon session was on community social support services.
